At KTL-Ladders, we have embraced sustainable development, which is why sustainability is one of our core values. Environmental awareness is deeply rooted in society, leading both companies and consumers to shift focus and take more responsibility for caring for the planet. Therefore, our company has incorporated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to promote the circular economy and minimize waste generation through recycling and reuse. Additionally, we have a production model that keeps materials in productive cycles for longer, allowing them to be used more frequently and achieving zero waste production.
Aluminium, a highly sustainable material
Aluminium is characterized by being lightweight, corrosion-resistant, durable, and low-maintenance, qualities that make it a highly sustainable metal by nature and environmentally friendly. However, the main feature of aluminium is that it is 100% recyclable, meaning it can be recycled infinitely without losing quality. Furthermore, its recycling process allows new products to be made without generating any waste or compromising future generations by reducing carbon footprint and minimizing environmental impact.
Our products feature sustainable designs as they are made from recycled, durable, and energy-efficient raw materials. Aluminium, the material of choice in our production processes, is the most suitable metal for a future guided by the basic principles of the Circular Economy: ‘a model of production and consumption that involves sharing, reusing, repairing, renewing, and recycling existing materials and products as many times as possible to create added value. This way, the lifecycle of products is extended over time’, according to the European Parliament.
Incorporation of recycled materials in packaging
Approximately 40% of the plastic produced globally is used for product packaging and wrapping, highlighting the significant benefits of using recycled materials in packaging, including reduced environmental impact and decreased reliance on natural resources.
At KTL-Ladders, we care about and are committed to environmental preservation, which is why we recognize the importance and need to incorporate recycled materials into packaging. For this reason, we use shrink film made from 50% post-consumer recycled plastic for our products, developed to meet the requirements of EU Directive 2018/821 and certified by AENOR UNE-15343 – Recycled plastics: Traceability and conformity assessment of recycled plastics and recycled content– , actively promoting the circular economy by valuing plastic waste.
Installation of photovoltaic solar panels
Solar energy is one of the most well-known and easily accessible renewable energy sources for companies, which is why more and more companies are turning to photovoltaic solar energy to reduce environmental impact and save on energy costs. To ensure energy stability, KTL-Ladders has installed photovoltaic solar panels at our Náquera (Valencia) plant to enhance and strengthen our commitment to sustainability and reduce our carbon footprint by producing cleaner, more ecological energy that is renewable, inexhaustible, and does not contribute to pollution or global warming.
Thus, at KTL-Ladders, through the installation of photovoltaic solar panels, the use of recycled shrink film for packaging our stools and ladders, or the use of aluminium as the primary material in our production processes, we are committed to the care, conservation, and preservation of the environment at a higher level. Therefore, we continuously work to reduce the impact of our environmental footprint and protect our planet.
