The elderly community remains the most frequent visitors to cemeteries to honour their deceased loved ones. However, when placing flowers on graves or cleaning the headstones of their relatives, users encounter many difficulties. While some cemeteries in the national territory still suffer from a shortage of ladders for visitors to comfortably and safely access the higher rows of niches, others have old and poorly maintained ladders, putting the safety of those who climb them at risk. On the contrary, cemeteries that do have cemetery ladders have heavy and difficult-to-handle models, complicating their movement from one place to another.
Cemetery ladders are not only used by relatives but also by professionals in the sector for cleaning, conservation, and maintenance tasks of the mausoleums and niches. For this reason, due to their intensive use and to avoid possible falls from heights by operators and users, cemetery ladders must comply with the safety requirements established in the European Standards of the EN 131 series. The cemetery ladders from KTL-Ladders, in addition to complying with safety regulations, are characterized by being light, easy to handle, and stable, making it easy not only to comfortably and safely reach the niches in the higher rows but also to move them easily from one place to another within the cemetery.
For this reason, at KTL-Ladders, we offer municipalities a wide range of models from our industrial series used as cemetery ladders so that users do not encounter any obstacles when tending to the niches. Some of these models include:
Foldable work platform KARLA
This model from KTL-Ladders is very useful for maintaining niches at intermediate heights that do not require large ladders. The advantage of this alternative is that its platform, in addition to allowing comfortable work, is very light and easy for a single person to maneuver, making it easy and convenient for users to move around.
This foldable work platform, available in a wide range of options for the platform, has slots for spill evacuation. In case visitors to the cemeteries spill water or any other liquid on the surface, this feature will reduce the risk of slips or accidental falls. Optional accessories include the possibility of adding 80 mm diameter moving wheels, a stabilizing base, or guardrails with a toe board to further increase safety.
Mobile ladder with platform, foldable, 2XL
This aluminium foldable ladder is another model used as a cemetery ladder because its 85° support section inclination allows users to perform maintenance and cleaning tasks very close to the niches, facilitating access to the higher ones without risking their safety. This ladder with a platform, in addition to its lightness, features 125 mm diameter moving wheels on the support section, making it easier, faster, and more convenient to move. Being foldable also makes it easy to store.
For maximum convenience, this KTL-Ladders ladder includes a tool tray where cemetery visitors can place their flowers, candles, or any cleaning product while performing maintenance tasks. One of the particularities of this model is its 80 mm tread steps with non-slip reliefs and screwed, which can be easily replaced in case of any damage. Additionally, the foldable mobile ladder with platform, 2XL-S, incorporates four swivel wheels for greater maneuverability. It is also easy to handle, transport, and highly resistant and durable, allowing users to comfortably reach the upper niches without accidents.
Mobile platform ladder MAX 45º
This model of ladder with a platform and safety handrails has a 45º ascent section inclination, a feature that allows users to descend facing forward. This is very useful when visitors are carrying flowers or candles that they remove when arranging the niches. Additionally, it includes a large 60×60 cm working platform with a toe board, wide steps, and guardrails, favouring the performance of cleaning tasks with maximum comfort and safety. Depending on the chosen reference, these ladders can have 125 mm diameter moving wheels or 125 mm diameter swivel wheels with brakes for easier and effortless transportation by users.
This platform ladder features a support section inclination that allows the user to get very close to the row of niches. At KTL-Ladders, we offer the option of choosing the MAX 60º mobile platform ladder model, which differs in the 60º ascent section inclination, reducing the space in working mode to avoid obstructing the passage of visitors through the cemetery aisles.
Mobile platform ladder EP-1
This ladder model with a comfortable 68º climbing inclination is equipped with a wide platform and 110 cm high safety guardrails on three sides, ensuring safe use. This KTL-Ladders platform ladder is one of the most used by municipal councils for their cemeteries due to its wide range of platforms with a toe board –depending on the reference, they can be 90 or 60 cm long and 49 or 60 cm wide– offering maximum stability and ensuring that users’ stay on it does not pose any health risk.
This model features 80 mm tread steps with non-slip reliefs and a height between them of 250 mm, promoting a much more comfortable ascent, along with an 87º support section that allows getting very close to the niches. This platform ladder offers great stability and resistance to users, as well as incorporating 125 mm diameter moving wheels for faster, easier, and more convenient transportation. Through this ladder, cemetery visitors will no longer need to ask for help from cemetery staff as they can reach the higher areas on their own with maximum safety, reducing the risk of falls from heights.
The cemetery ladders from KTL-Ladders are at a higher level, can be custom designed, and allow easy movement from one place to another within the cemetery without great effort. Our cemetery ladders, available in various heights, come with a ten-year guarantee against manufacturing defects, can support a maximum weight of 150 kg, and comply with the minimum requirements established in the EN 131 Standard regarding dimensions, materials, and stability.
